Café Team Member

- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, inventory preparation, merchandising, and inventory control. - Support the daily operations of the Café, including food preparation, cooking, and serving food and beverages. - Maintain exceptional customer service while ensuring an efficient and welcoming café environment. - Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations, including proper food handling and personal hygiene standards. - Keep food preparation, storage, and display areas clean, organized, and compliant with Berkshire Food Co-op and health department standards. - Ensure all prepared foods are accurately labeled with ingredients and production dates. - Assist with training and mentoring new team members as directed by Fresh Foods leadership. - Perform additional duties as assigned by the Fresh Foods Manager. - 1+ years of food service or café experience preferred. - **Availability to work evenings and weekends is required.** - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. - Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. - Passion for food and preparing high-quality products. - Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions with attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Ability to safely use kitchen equipment, including knives. - Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and regularly bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, push, and pull. - Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, including overhead when necessary, using proper lifting techniques. - Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer environments.
