Position Title: **Café Manager** Job Location: Spokane Club Position Reports To: Athletic Operations Director FCLA Status: Non-Exempt **Position Summary:** The Café Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional member experience by ensuring outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained café environment, and leading a high-performing team. This position oversees the daily operations of the Café and Sports Shop, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff while working collaboratively with other managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels and adherence to budget goals. The Café Manager proactively addresses member concerns, promotes club programs and special events, and continually evaluates café operations to identify opportunities for improvement based on member feedback. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** **Management Duties:** - Interview, hire, onboarding and training new sports shop employees - Schedule staff to meet operational needs while managing labor costs. - Supervise employees during shifts and provide coaching and direction - Review daily sales and identify opportunities to increase profitability - Monitor Sports Shop employee appearance and adherence to Club dress codes. - Ensure elevated member experience in the deli, including providing exceptional service and upscale food/beverage options. - Work with Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team to bring innovative ideas on how to elevate the café experience for members. - Responsible for inventory control process and execution of Sport Shop merchandise. - Works with kitchen, catering, purchasing, and storeroom staff to ensure quality of all supplies and food. - Ensure food safety, health and sanitation regulations are adhered to by all staff in the deli. - Supervise day-to-day staff performance and assist in performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary action as needed. - Monitor employee food card and MAST certifications and ensure they are renewed before expiration. - Collaborate with other departments to support overall club operations. **Daily Deli & Sports Shop responsibilities:** - Ensure proper transactions logged into the POS. - Ensure staff accurately verify member accounts, confirm account status as needed, and properly record all café purchases and transactions. - Process cash and charge transactions per policy - Balance registers at the end of shift, ensure proper accounting of transactions - Stock Sports Shop displays as needed. - Maintain and ensure cleanliness in Sports Shop and Deli areas - Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote deli sales. Keep menu board updated with current menu items. - Take food and beverage orders, prepare as needed; wrap or bag merchandise for members as required. - Provide exceptional hospitality by building rapport with members and guests, recognizing them by name whenever possible, and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. **Qualifications:** - Highschool Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred. - Ability to work occasional weekends or early mornings if coverage is needed - 2-4 years supervisory experience required - Barista experience preferred - Experience with POS systems and inventory management - 5-7 years of experience working in private club and/or athletic facility. - Current Food Handlers Permit and MAST Certification required - Must be 21+ - Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends. - This is a member-facing position which requires the ability to present and speak professionally and respectfully to members and guests of the Club. - Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment. - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, and kneel. 11:00AM - 7:30PM
