**Buyer** **Advion** | Ithaca, NY Advion is looking for a detail-oriented **Buyer** to join our Procurement team. In this role, you'll be the critical link between our engineers and suppliers - keeping production moving, managing costs, and ensuring our teams always have what they need, when they need it. If you thrive on solving problems, building strong vendor relationships, and staying organized in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you. **What You'll Do** - Serve as the key connection between engineers and suppliers, providing product availability updates and expediting orders to meet customer demand - Procure components, spare parts, and equipment for our office and laboratory needs - Negotiate and select suppliers to balance the best combination of price, quality, and delivery time - Maintain accurate part descriptions, pricing, and purchase order details within our ERP system - Resolve order discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and our accounting team - Process inventory transactions and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies - Kit materials needed for product assembly - Support special projects as assigned by management - Help guide staff on procurement policies and best practices **What You Bring** - 3-5+ years of experience in procurement, planning, inventory management, or a related field - A customer-service mindset with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills - Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel - Experience with ERP software (JD Edwards a plus) - Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities - A team-first attitude - you share knowledge, give constructive feedback, and pitch in where needed **Why Advion** Join a collaborative team where your contributions directly support the success of our engineering and operations teams.
