Join us and help run what runs the world. **This position reports to:** Procurement & Logistics Manager \_\_ The work model for the role is: **Onsite**, Selmer, TN **Your role and responsibilities** In this role as **Buyer**, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team. You will be mainly accountable for: - Initiating Purchase Orders in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring, and tracking supplier performance to PO requirements. - Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists and terms and conditions. - Recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval. - Analyzing and evaluating bids to determine the optimal value. **Qualifications for the role** - **Bachelor degree in business** or related field (preferred) **PLUS minimum 2 years experience** in procurement in a manufacturing environment **OR Associate degree PLUS 4 years related experience** - Experience in POs, supplier agreements, and inventory management, preferred - Familiarity with Raw Materials such as Aluminum, Copper, Steel, a plus - Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel - SAP experience, preferred - Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US. **More about us** ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid.
