In addition to having a strong educational background and high school teaching experience, successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of adolescent development and have an interest in interdisciplinary work. This is a great opportunity for candidates who are creative and want to help build curriculum cooperatively. Candidates should also understand the importance of involvement in the community and student engagement and empowerment and value ongoing professional development and authentic collaboration with other faculty and staff to advance the school's mission and strategic vision. Successful candidates must have experience and confidence in using technology in the classroom. This is a full-time position, starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Essential Responsibilities ? Implements the TPS Business department curricula consistent with school and district goals, mission, and vision. ? Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individuals and small group instruction, student centered learning and growth positive math mindsets. ? Facilitates and plans for a classroom environment that allows students the opportunity to solve rigorous real-world problems. ? Incorporates problem based learning opportunities into instruction ? Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual small group instruction as needed. ? Provides appropriate, meaningful, and timely feedback to improve student achievement. ? Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings. ? Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. ? Incorporates technology and digital tools appropriately into instruction. ? Reviews and implements modifications, accommodations, and intervention plans for all students both general and special education. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ? Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. ? Ability to employ a variety of teaching techniques through the use of appropriate instructional materials to meet the needs of all learners. ? Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, and parents. ? Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. ? Ability to provide students with opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, while affording opportunity for creative activity. ?
