This role combines innovative teaching, active learning strategies, and real-world business expertise to prepare students for today’s evolving business environment. The instructor will contribute to curriculum development, foster connections with the local business community, and teach across a range of disciplines including management, marketing, business law, finance, professional development, and logistics. **Salary** VGCC considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; and internal peer equity in offer calculations. **Teleworking** **:** This position is assigned to the VGCC Main Campus in Henderson NC; although, some travel to other counties in the college’s service area is possible. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.* - Teach assigned classes. - Collaborate with the Program Head and other faculty program heads in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program curriculum. - Assessing student learning outcomes and demonstrating the use of the results to make improvements to course/program - Recommending improvements to the course/program based on assessment results - Maintaining suitable class records which show student membership hours, academic progress, student grading system, etc. - Recommending the adoption or discontinuance of textbooks and/or other instructional supplies and equipment to the Department Head, - Maintaining appropriate course documents, such as syllabi, objectives, tests, lesson plans, etc. Experiment with innovative teaching techniques. - Provide feedback to students regarding course progression. - Support student learning outside of the classroom by holding regular office hours, providing information about additional college resources, and responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner to promote student success.
