Overview FLSA: Non-Exempt Employees in this class ensure safety by performing door-watch and security screening work in monitoring the entrance to the Law Enforcement Center. Employees also perform some duties incidental to repairs, cleaning and related tasks. Employees are selected by the Facilities Director and work under moderate to close supervision of the Building Services Supervisor. Ensures that persons entering or leaving the building pass through designated security detection devices. Operates security detection devices such as x-ray scanner for metal detection or other equipment. Stops persons causing security devices to activate and requests compliance with security procedures, such as emptying pockets of metal objects. Examines personal effects of persons to ensure compliance with building security policy. In the event of non compliance with building security, notifies appropriate staff to handle compliance problems. Does not enforce security. Does not arrest nor physically restrain persons.
