Building Maintenance Worker & Custodian (6927)

**This position is responsible for:** Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment; performs minor painting, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repair work; loads and unloads merchandise as needed; Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure neatness and cleanliness; maintains vehicles; runs errands. **Key Responsibilities:** - Responsible for routine repairs of all properties, including but not limited to minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged plumbing and toilets, repair of dents and holes in the walls, and painting. - Replace bulbs and fluorescent tubes as needed. - Assembles and moves office furniture, including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc. - Responsible for maintaining the outside area of all properties, including the landscaping of the facilities. - Ensure the cleanliness of the inside and outside of the building. - Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to The Salvation Army. - Picks up trash in the building and grounds and empties cans to the front of the building as needed. - Assist with deliveries. - Perform custodial work, including cleaning bathrooms, general offices, and the kitchen/break room. **Physical Requirements:** Ability to meet attendance requirements. Work frequently requires lifting, carrying, and/or pushing/pulling heavy (50 – 100 +lb.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Heavy mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, sitting, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching, or transporting merchandise on a frequent change basis is relieved by fewer periods of sitting or operating a vehicle and walking on a frequent change basis. **Employee Benefits:** - Medical - Dental - Vision | **Education & Experience:** High School diploma or G.E.D required.
