Bru Bar Barista (FT or PT)

Job Summary A Bru Bar Barista is responsible for promoting coffee consumption by educating customers and preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and other baked goods. The Bru Bar also serves a variety of beer, wine, and liquor. Position anticipated to start late April or early May. Job Duties and Responsibilities Welcome customers and determine their food and drink interests and needs. Educate customers by presenting and explaining the drink menu and answering questions. Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques, such as espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino. Generate revenue by attracting new customers and offering additional products. Maintain inventories of coffee bean supply, coffee brewing equipment, pastries and other food items, and other supplies. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and reporting needed repairs. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, and maintaining and improving the appearance of the coffee bar. Other duties as assigned. Physical & Other Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule. Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration. Non-smoking candidates preferred.
