**Job Title:** Boiler Service and Start-up Technician – Commercial/Industrial **Reports to:** Area Manager or Director of Technical Operation **FLSA Status:** Full Time, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) *We are 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). ESOP employees tend to have 2.2 times as much in retirement savings as employees in traditional companies.* **Position Purpose:** The primary purpose of the Boiler Service and Start-up Technician is to provide preventative maintenance, start-up, warranty, and repair services on light commercial and industrial hydronic equipment. Strong emphasis on customer service. Our technicians will work with extremely specialized equipment, that are responsible for hydronic heating and potentially domestic water systems in schools, hospitals, office buildings, industrial buildings, universities, manufacturing facilities or other large institutions. The Boiler Service and Start-up Technician may occasionally involve after hour call outs in order to provide emergency repairs. Provide guidance and direction to administrative personnel to effectively plan, schedule, coordinate, etc. all activities related to field HVAC service and construction/replacement work ***Hoffman Mechanical Solutions, Inc. is a company focused on being #1 in the HVAC industry in providing the most innovative HVAC solutions through superior design and customer service.*** **Boiler Tech and Start-up Technician** **Duties and Responsibilities****:** - Build strong customer relationships and confidence in HMS and our core products, while also building knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs and expectations - Perform technical level support/repairs, overhauls, general maintenance and start-ups of various mechanical commercial equipment such as Boilers, Water Heaters, Pumps, Humidifiers, Booster Systems, Variable Frequency Drive, etc - Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial Hydronic Plumbing equipment - Ensure customer satisfaction and confidence by efficiently and effectively servicing products and equipment on assigned projects - Must be able to plan ahead for jobs, ensuring you have the proper tools - Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer's location - Provide onsite preventative maintenance, replacement parts, and modifications as needed or requested by customers - Proactively prevent future issues onsite by examining building layout, gathering materials and coordinating as needed - Ability to use power tools, computer, and smartphone - Strong computer, internet and communication skills needed - Keeping appropriate records by completing the necessary paperwork for each job and working with Service Coordinator to maintain accurate and updated files - Maintain project expenses through planned course of action - Maintain and inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition, inventory needs, scheduling and completing repairs and routine maintenance service - Working knowledge of mechanical systems **Boiler Tech and Start-up Technician** **Knowledge/Experience/Critical Skills Required:** - Education/Experience – associate degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. Minimum of Five (5) years related experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Operational knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software preferred. - Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and short correspondence.
