Billing Specialist

LifeCare is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing software, insurance regulations, and exceptional communication skills to effectively respond to inquiries from patients and insurance providers. This position also requires a high level of accuracy and discretion in handling patient data and maintaining confidentiality. Medical Biller Key Responsibilities: - Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal and state healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations. - Follow internal policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, to ensure smooth integration and execution of revenue-related processes. - Partner with billing and coding team members to maintain uninterrupted daily workflows. - Engage with payers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and reimbursement issues. Medical Billing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Proficient in HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology. - Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers. - Demonstrated ability to follow organizational policies and procedures. - Capable of self-monitoring performance and making improvements as needed. - Strong critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution skills. - Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Medical Billing Education and Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management preferred. - Certification in Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent relevant experience. - Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement processes, and regulatory compliance. - Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Medical Billing Work Environment: - Open-concept office design that encourages collaboration and clear communication among team members. - Must be able to sit for extended periods. - Regular use of computers, monitors, keyboards, and other office equipment.
