## Description **Position Summary**: The Billing Specialist II reports directly to the Billing Manager and is responsible for accurately providing full cycle invoicing details for customers on an agreed upon frequency, answering any special billing client related questions, ensuring invoicing deadlines are met and analyzing invoices where applicable. The ideal candidate will have two years’ experience in a fast-paced, complex billing environment. **Essential Job Functions:** - Ensures customer accounts are set up correctly with all pertinent billing information and correct tax codes - Reviews, balances and posts location sales and payments - Oversees the timely process of each day’s bank deposit and provides daily reports to the proper department - Oversees invoicing of fuel deliveries, verifying price and tax information and ensuring the invoices to be send out with the corresponding meter tickets for backup - Investigates incorrect billings due to charges or credits on customers’ accounts and prepares written instructions for correction - Communicates with Inventory to ensure inventory and sales are in balance by maintaining spreadsheets and providing sales reports - Participates in the weekly Finance Staff Meeting - Responsible for the maintenance of select accounts receivable accounts - Complies and maintains customer sales information reports for Marketing as requested - Ensures all supplies for billing and locations such as statements, invoices, meter tickets, etc. are sufficient - Ensures all A/R phone inquiries are answered **Other Job Responsibilities:** - Other duties as assigned **Minimum Qualifications:** - High school diploma, or equivalent - Associates Degree in related field **OR** - Two (2) years’ accounting experience **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:** - Knowledge and experience reviewing contracts for billing requirements - Knowledge of Excel applications - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to work independently with little supervision - Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline driven environment - Ability to exercise independent judgement where standardization does not exist **Education:** - High school diploma, or equivalent **Required Training & Certificates:** - Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department. - Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications. **Physical Demand/Work Environment:** The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
