Job Summary: The Benefits Administrator works with the Director of Human Resources & Administration to aid in facilitating the human resource benefits program processes at all business locations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Administration • Aid in the administration of the HRIS system, including benefits enrollments, staff status and payroll changes, eligibility changes, and offboarding • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information • Assist with new-hire orientations and benefits information distribution and meetings • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data • Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA • Responds to 403b inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts • Assist CFO and Director of Human Resources with annual ERISA audit • Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings as needed • Respond to and process workers’ compensation claims, working with both the employee and the workers’ compensation insurance company • Assists with the open enrollment process • Administers the tuition reimbursement program • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions • Perform customer service functions by answering employees’ benefits requests and questions • Process termination of benefits • Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the VP of HR • Make photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions • File benefits documents into appropriate employee physical as well as digital files • Assist or prepare correspondence as requested • Processes mail regarding benefits • Performs other related duties as assigned Legal & Compliance • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
