Behavior Specialist The Arc of San Diego | San Diego, CA Position Overview Department: Human Resources Reports to: Director of Behavioral Resources Status: Full-time, non-exempt Work Environment: Onsite 8a- 4:30p/ with travel to residential homes & program sites Pay: The pay for this position is $22.00 to $23.00 Make a meaningful impact every day. At The Arc of San Diego, we empower children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live more independent, fulfilling lives. We’re looking for a Behavioral Specialist who is passionate about person-centered support, training staff, and improving outcomes for the individuals we serve. What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of behavior strategies that support individuals across our programs. You’ll partner closely with staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent, person-centered care while also training and coaching employees on best practices in behavioral support. A typical day may include: Designing and monitoring Behavioral Support Plans using positive behavior strategies Training staff and leading in-service sessions or orientation classes Consulting on behavioral challenges and reviewing participant progress Attending team meetings and collaborating with internal and external partners Maintaining documentation and tracking behavioral data What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related field At least 1 year of experience supporting behavioral plans for individuals with I/DD Strong communication, training, and collaboration skills Experience with documentation and data tracking Valid California driver’s license Why Join The Arc of San Diego Mission-driven work that directly impacts lives Opportunity to train, lead, and influence programs across the organization Collaborative and supportive team environment Commitment to professional growth and development
