We continually strive to value staff, support diversity, and promote excellence and personal choice in the provision of consumer care. **** Western Tidewater Community Services Board is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech who will provide quality direct care, and therapeutic intervention for individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI). **Job Description:** - Establish open lines of communication and build rapport for individuals with behavioral or emotional issues with a serious mental illness diagnosis residing in an Assisted Living Facility. - Provide direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group setting to implement behavior reduction interventions as directed by the supervisor. - Support de-escalation of crisis behaviors. - Evaluate the behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provide input. - Provide and document quality and quantity of direct services as required by program standards in an electronic health records system. - Mandatory round checks conducted as required per department for shift reporting. - Provide transportation when needed. - Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Administrator and/or Supervisor. **Qualifications:** - QMHP, or two years of experience working with SMI in a direct care setting - Valid driver’s license - Drug and Alcohol/ Mental Health experience - Must possess skills to communicate effectively and interact well with people of diverse backgrounds. - Ability to handle a crisis and react appropriately. - Flexibility and adaptable **Work Schedule:** - 3 pm to 11 pm - Must be able to work weekends and holidays. - PRN, Part Time and Full Time available # To Apply: Submit a cover letter and resume via Indeed, or on our job board at [www.wtcsb.org](http://www.wtcsb.org/). **ONLY THOSE APPLICANTS SELECTED FOR AN INTERVIEW WILL BE CONTACTED.
