Batchroaster Operator

**Summary of Job** As a batch roaster you will be working in the Roasting area, mixing and dumping of raw materials into cooking basket. Using Method of Process established for the development of all products. Measures, weights and cook quantities of products according to batch requirements. Performs all these activities in compliance with company’s personnel safety, food safety and food quality systems as well as 5s methodology. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities** - Operator must know how to light both roasters - Must know how to fill the roasters with oil if necessary - Must know how the temperatures of every product to be roasted - Must know how to regulate and control oil glazers and salters - Able to monitor charts when necessary - Must regulate roasting temperature - Must post a sample of product roasted every time there’s a different product. - Must weight and cover every bin filled - Operator is required to produce the highest quality product. - Must to add oil to the glazers if necessary - Must know how to prepare the liquid solution - Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues. - Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunction within 15 minutes of down time **Education and Qualifications** - Basic math, reading skills, good communication skills, written and oral. - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. - Must be able to work rotating shifts - Must be able willing to work with very little notice upon business needs. - Able to work in a fast-paced environment - Self-learner and ability to multi task - Basic computer knowledge - Mechanically inclined - Must be able to cross-train in other positions including departments **Physical Requirements** - Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance **Technical Skills** - Able to operate a pallet jack and safely move up to 2000 lbs. of product. - Sufficient manual dexterity to operate properly - Must be able to stand, walk, work in an environment where stooping, twisting and bending are frequent up to 10 hrs. **Soft Skills** - Positive attitude (can do attitude); team player. - Proactive, disciplined and organized - Ability to train new Operators This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
