# **Batching & Weighing Technician** **Department:** Production – Weigh-Out **Reports To:** Production Manager / Weigh-Out Supervisor **Location:** Rochester, NY **Status:** Full-Time | Non-Exempt **Payrate**: $18 - $21 ## **Position Summary** The Batching & Weighing Technician is responsible for accurately mixing, measuring, staging, labeling, and documenting ingredients and cannabis inputs for production batches across the facility. This department supports edibles, beverages, pre-rolls, vapes, infusions, and other production processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, basic math skills, inventory discipline, and the ability to follow food safety, cGMP, cannabis compliance, and Canix ERP procedures. ## **Key Responsibilities** **Mix, Measure & Stage Production Batches** - Accurately weigh, measure, mix, and stage ingredients according to approved batch records, formulas, SOPs, and production schedules. - Prepare complete batch kits for edibles, beverages, pre-rolls, vapes, infusions, and other production runs. - Verify materials, lot numbers, quantities, weights, labels, and containers before releasing materials to production. - Support accurate handling of cannabinoid inputs, infusions, and active ingredients under approved procedures. **Canix ERP & Documentation Accuracy** - Record ingredient pulls, inventory movements, WIP transfers, batch activity, and material usage in Canix accurately and in real time. - Ensure physical inventory movements match Canix transactions and batch documentation. - Complete batch records, weigh sheets, sanitation logs, and required production paperwork clearly and accurately. - Report discrepancies, missing materials, incorrect lots, weight variances, or system issues immediately. **Inventory Management & Organization** - Pull, stage, label, and return materials using FIFO, lot control, allergen segregation, and cannabis tracking standards. - Support cycle counts, inventory checks, reconciliations, and shortage reporting. - Maintain clean, organized, properly labeled, and audit-ready weigh-out and staging areas. - Follow 5S standards for tools, containers, carts, storage areas, and material flow. **Food Safety, Quality & cGMP Compliance** - Follow all food safety, GMP, cGMP, sanitation, allergen-control, and cannabis compliance requirements. - Prevent cross-contamination through proper PPE use, cleaning, labeling, material handling, and equipment controls. - Use calibrated scales, approved utensils, clean containers, and verified documentation for all weigh-out activity. - Escalate quality concerns, damaged materials, expired items, or potential contamination immediately. ## **Required Qualifications** - High school diploma or GED preferred. - Experience in food, beverage, cannabis, pharmaceutical, kitchen production, manufacturing, inventory, or warehouse environments preferred. - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions, batch records, and SOPs. - Comfortable with basic math, weights, measurements, unit conversions, and calculators. - Ability to use or learn Canix ERP, tablets, Google Sheets, and production tracking tools. - Reliable attendance, clear communication, and willingness to work in a structured, compliance-focused environment. ## **Physical Requirements** - Ability to stand and walk for most of a 10-hour shift. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. - Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, carrying, and use of carts or step stools. - Ability to work around food ingredients, powders, oils, cannabis materials, cleaning agents, and production equipment. - Must wear required PPE including gloves, hair/beard net, safety glasses, bump cap, and other protective equipment as assigned. ### Benefits PTO, Paid Holidays, 401K, Medical, Dental, Vision
