Our mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive healthcare at a reasonable cost to everyone. **Job Summary** Medical Assistant with Basic X-Ray Machine Operator is a professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician. This practitioner assists with patient care management and executes administrative and clinical procedures. Competence in the field also requires that a medical assistant adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize and respond to emergencies and demonstrate professional characteristics. **** **Key Responsibilities** - Performing aseptic procedures - Taking vital signs - Preparing patients for the physician’s career - Performing venipunctures and non-intravenous injections - Observing and reporting patients’ signs or symptoms - Administering basic first aid - Assisting with patient examinations or treatments - Operating office medical equipment - Collecting routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician - Administering medication as directed by the physician (**exception** medications requiring dosage calculation) - Performing basic laboratory procedures - Performing office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the physician - Performs x-rays using proper positioning and radiation precautions - Performs required radiology quality controls - Wears radiation monitoring badge at all times when in x-ray room - Explains radiology procedure and obtains written consent - Enters all patient information in x-ray computer and sends all required information to third-party vendor for radiology reads - Retrieves all x-ray reports electronically and forwards to the appropriate department **** **Essential Functions** - Problem Solving - Customer Service - Verbal Communication - Written Communication - Professional Judgement **** **Minimum Qualifications** - **Education:** - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required - **Experience:** - 1 year of related work experience preferred - **Licenses or Certifications:** - Medical Assistant Certification required - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate is required - Registered by the American Medical Technologists - Completion of Basic Machine Operator training and current license required - **Criminal Background Clearance:** - True Health is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n), and partners with agencies that require criminal background checks. True Health has established policies and procedures that may influence the overall employment process, hiring, and “just cause” for the termination of employees. An employee’s career could be shortened if there is a violation of any policies and procedures. Prohibited criminal behavior is defined in Florida Statute (F.S.) 408.809. Any employee arrested for any offense outlined in the F.S.408.809 will be immediately suspended and remain suspended until the charges are disposed of in court.
