The **Bartending Staff** is responsible for greeting customers, learning about their preferences, answering questions, recommending menu items, and preparing and serving beverages and food. This is a **SEASONAL,** full-time or part-time position and reports to the Food Service Manager. ***DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*** - Accurately complete cash, credit card and gift card transactions using point of sale system - Upsell to guests by suggesting menu items to accompany beverage selections - Prepare beverages consistent with quality and food safety standards - Maintain sanitation of the preparation and service areas - Stock condiments, napkins, straws, etc. for guest use - Clean tables and chairs, sweep/mop floors and empty trash in the bar/dining area - Check customer’s identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age - Mix all drinks based on the standard serving sizes, keeping drink costs at a minimum - Transfer products between locations - Receive and inventory shipments from vendors - Assist with monthly inventory and ordering - Participate in other projects and activities as assigned - Collaborate with management on specials ***EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE*** - 1+ year experience bartending - TIPS training required - State required certification ***QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS*** - Basic computer skills - Positive, engaging personality, strong work ethic and professional appearance - Strong organizational, motivational, and leadership skills - Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills - Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy - Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment - Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays - Work with minimal supervision - Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management ***ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS*** - Able to lift up to 50 lbs - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, occasionally in warm temperatures - Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl - Able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, serve, etc. *Northgate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.* *Northgate is also a proud participant of the E-Verify Program.
