**Baker/Pasta Maker: Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks** **Overview of the Concepts:** The Bower plaza in the Fenway is home to three concepts from ES Hospitality - Eastern Standard, reopened after 15 years in Kenmore Square, Equal Measure, a craft cocktail bar, and Standard Italian, a modern Italian restaurant. These concepts, helmed by Garrett Harker, serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks to neighborhood visitors, BU students and faculty, residents, and restaurant industry professionals alike. **About the Position:** Eastern Standard is seeking an experienced baker to round out its Bakery and Pastry Department. If this sounds like you, we want to chat! **Responsibilities:** - Prepare, produce, and bake artisan breads, enriched rolls, and viennoiserie. - Set time and speed controls for mixing machines, or blending machines, so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions. - Accurately measure or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, and pastry creams, using scales or graduated containers. - Prepare garnishes as needed for baked goods. - Maintain adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensure proper storage and refrigeration. - Keeps food waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products. - Properly clean, break down, and store all baking equipment including: ovens, mixers, proofer, floors, freezer, and refrigerators. - Assist in pasta production for both Eastern Standard and Standard Italian. **In order to be successful in this role you must:** - Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting - Work well in a team oriented environment - Possess strong attention to detail and a positive attitude - Be dependable and punctual to all shifts - Have the ability to work daytime, evenings and weekends a must - **Previous pastry experience is required, pasta making experience is a plus** **Compensation and Benefits:** $21-$23/hour; vacation and benefits available to full-time employees We offer a competitive salary (based on experience), health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off plan, dining discounts, 401k and continuous development and learning opportunities. *Eastern Standard Hospitality considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
