We are experiencing **explosive growth**, making this an exciting time to join and shape the future of security. ## **Your Role** You will work on the team that owns our data platform, including real-time API integrations, Kafka-based streaming systems, Spark and Airflow data pipelines, and the data services that power our application layer. You take pride in building reliable, maintainable, and scalable infrastructure that turns complex data flows into high-quality services for the product. You can translate product and customer requirements into durable platform designs, make thoughtful technical tradeoffs, and build systems that anticipate our needs as we evolve. Fable is founded by the early team from Abnormal Security ($5B valuation) and backed by Greylock, the investors behind Palo Alto Networks, Okta, Figma, and others. Our team has built many of the iconic products at Meta, Twitter, Flexport, and more. Our team has alumni from Waterloo, Columbia, Berkeley, Purdue, CMU, Stanford, and USC. ## **Your skillset** - 3+ years developing backend software - Designed, implemented, and owned production-facing services - Experience with one of: - Experience building and integrating with external APIs a plus - Relational DB backends (Django or similar) - Experience building ETL and data pipelines a plus - Experience with building distributed systems and backends - Experience with AWS, terraform, EKS, and cloud systems - Strong desire to be part of an early team and create foundational systems ## **How We Work** - We **work from our San Francisco office three days a week**, fostering collaboration and deep focus. - We emphasize **mutual trust, high execution, and delivering differentiated product experiences**. - We are an **AI-native company,** and Fable engineers are excited to use AI-powered development practices to move faster, improve quality, and continuously evolve how they build software. - We prioritize impact—every team member plays a **key role in shaping our success**. The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $135,000 - $250,000/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives.
