General DescriptionnAvionics personnel support KC-135 aircraft modification operations. This position requires CONUS/OCONUS travel to support maintenance operations throughout the United States and overseas. Ideal candidates specialize in aircraft electrical and avionics systems, with experience troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, installing, and testing avionics equipment to ensure mission readiness.nDutiesnnPerforms documentation of maintenance, modification, and repair activities.nPerform and conduct routine inspections, special inspections, and troubleshooting; as well as inspect the same tasks of other technicians as required by regulations.nInstall aircraft avionic, electrical, or communication systems, sensors, and antennas.nComply with both host facility safety and quality regulations/requirements as well as all applicable Tyonek quality and safety policies to ensure program success.nOther duties as assignednnEducation/Experience nnHigh School Diploma or equivalentn4 - 6 years on-the-job experience in any electrical or avionics aircraft-related discipline, preferably KC-135.nFormal aviation avionics training from a technical trade or military technical school is preferred.nA Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License or an Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is desired but not required.nMust possess the ability and equivalent experience to read and comprehend avionics and mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.nMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS travel.nAdvanced understanding and demonstration of electronics and electrical aptitude.nExperience operating ground support equipment. nKnowledge of using specialized equipment, tools, and test equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides preferred.nMust have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment. nMust have or be able to obtain a secret security clearancenLaser-focus on cost-effective and economical repair and support for all aircraft electrical and avionics system repairs and modificationsnMust be able to work, day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required.nMust be a U.S. citizen. nMust be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.nWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offers, pre-employment substance abuse testingnnPhysical RequirementsnTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
