In this role you'll drive operational excellence, build strong customer partnerships, and develop a high-performing team. We're looking for a leader who sets the tone someone who holds the team accountable, communicates with clarity, and is genuinely committed to delivering best-in-class results.**What we do**The General Manager is part of the site operations team, which is part of the Customer Operations organization. The Customer Operations organization is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Symbotic’s robotic material handling system. The Customer Operations organization drives operational excellence by engaging and partnering with our onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety and system performance.**What you’ll do** - Oversee day-to-day automation operations and production management at the customer site. - Conduct performance assessments, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions. - Own the site operating plan and customer financial commitments and lead the team in executing against them. - Monitor and report on operational performance to customers and internal cross-functional teams. - Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining quality standards and resolving issues promptly. - Lead, mentor, and develop the site operations team by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and continuous improvement. - Champion a culture of safety, quality, and operational discipline across the site. - Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, LOTO protocols, and company policies. - Support team development through coaching, training, and hands-on leadership. **What you’ll need** - Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience. - Minimum of 7 years of functional management and direct supervisory experience. - Minimum of 5 years of direct leadership within an operations environment. - Experience in logistics, material management, inventory control, or manufacturing operations. - Strong understanding of operational metrics and performance management. - Proven ability to drive change and implement process improvements. - Budget preparation and financial management experience. - Flexibility for overtime and travel as needed. **Our Environment** - Up to 10-15% of travel may be required; travel during onboarding/training will be up to 60%. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. - The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly. - There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure. - You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground. - Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit. - Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs. - Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. - The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches.
