## Description Responsible for attending area sports activities, and consulting with physicians, coaches, athletes and their families regarding injured athlete’s status. **CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - **** Assesses patient’s needs; selects, administers, and interprets appropriate evaluation procedures. - Educates patient and family members regarding evaluation findings and management recommendations. - Develops and instructs patients and family members in home programs. - Provides in-services within the department and professional and lay communities. - Aggressively pursue marketing opportunities within the realm of sports medicine in the community. - Establishes working relationship with area coaches and physicians. - Supervises field treatment/workouts of athletes when appropriate. - Travel to practice/game sites at area schools to offer and provide athletic training services on a daily, weekly, or as needed basis. - Perform other duties as assigned by management. - Maintains expertise through attendance at professional meetings and literature review. - Consistently works at projecting professional appearance and caring manner with co-workers, coaches, athletes, and family members. - Work flexible schedule and adapts to required changes with clinical and non-clinical responsibilities. ## Requirements **Education** - Graduate of an accredited Athletic Training Program with at least BS in Athletic Training. **Certification** - Current MS Athletic Trainer license or eligible for MS Athletic Trainer license. - Current CPR certification (Healthcare Provider).
