**Open Until Filled** **GENERAL DESCRIPTION:** The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) is hiring an At-Will Employee Contract (AWEC) for a minimum one-year contract. This position will support a field project focused on documenting and recording rock art sites on state-owned lands across Wyoming. This position will be based in Laramie and will be responsible for inputting extensive data collected on rock art sites into the WyoTrack database. Information will include gis data, site forms, photographs, and 3-D modeling. When applying for this position, please submit a resume/CV, a brief cover letter outlining relevant experience, and contact information for at least three professional references. **Human Resource Contact:** stacy.sprengeler@wyo.gov, 307-777-7010 **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. - Input new site records for rock art sites to include GIS information, site forms, photographs, and 3-D modeling. - Update existing site records with new information - Help with processing digital imagery for 3-d models - Perform quality control on GIS and site records **PREFERENCES:** - Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field - Demonstrated experience with rock art documentation methods, archaeological fieldwork, and site recording - Experience with GPS data collection and basic GIS applications - Experience with 3-D modeling systems - Experience with WyoTrack database **KNOWLEDGE:** - Previous experience recording rock art (petroglyphs/pictographs) in Wyoming or Surrounding States - Knowledge of Wyoming cultural resources and state recording protocols - Experience with digital photography techniques for rock art documentation (e.g., DStretch or similar tools), and 3-D imaging (e.g. Photomodeler) of rock art. - Graduate-level coursework in Archaeology or related discipline **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** None - See "Preferences" **PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS**: Work is conducted primarily in an office setting.
