Qualifications: Education/Training: Bachelor's degree Master's degree in Education (preferred) Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for the subject and level assigned Certificate of completion from Texas Reading Academy Candidate must have a satisfactory outcome of the fingerprinting check/background check Special Knowledge/Skills: Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience Deep knowledge and experience in use of researched-based instructional practices, creating optimal conditions for learning, and utilizing assessment to drive instruction Ability to analyze and interpret multiple forms of data Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives and conveying expectations Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills Ability to design and deliver quality professional development to a variety of audiences Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines Proficient technology skills and ability to integrate technology with instruction Experience: Minimum five years of effective classroom teaching experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Work with at-risk students in small group settings to strengthen math and/or reading skills through targeted, individualized instruction on an average of 4 hours per day. Provide coaching and Professional Development during the New Teacher Induction Program. Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement. Provide coaching and modeling support to demonstrate best practices for the delivery of instruction and the effective use of technology to support student learning. Skillfully provide constructive feedback to facilitate change in instructional practices. Set up a networking system to observe assigned teachers and share successful instructional practices. Plan and conduct professional development/mentoring activities for individuals and groups of teachers. Work with Curriculum and Instruction to facilitate and effectively support all district initiatives. Ability to establish and maintain integrated data systems for progress monitoring to include collecting data, analyzing results, and report findings to impact essential instructional practices. Support teachers with planning and delivering effective lessons based on the content TEKS. Plan and facilitate monthly professional development based on campus needs. Model teach with new teachers. Actively participate in district and campus meetings and trainings. Serve as a member of the campus leadership team. Maintain accurate and appropriate records and other documentation.
