**Assistant Football Coach - Defense (DL or LB)** Knox College invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Football Coach, a non-benefited position reporting to the Head Football Coach. With strong institutional support and an energized alumni base, Prairie Fire Athletics is positioned for continued growth and success. **Responsibilities** The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Knox College Football Program with a primary focus on the defensive side of the ball and in charge of a positional group (DL or LBs), including but not limited to: - Coach and develop either the defensive line or linebackers position group - Assist with defensive game planning, scouting and film breakdown - Support practice planning and on-field instruction with a focus on defensive execution - Contribute to the development of defensive strategies and systems - Mentor and support the development of student-athletes with an emphasis on retention. - Assist in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes who demonstrate academic and athletic fit. - Ensure adherence to all institutional, Midwest Conference, and NCAA Regulations **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university - Strong understanding of defensive schemes and positional play (DL or LB) - Valid Driver's License - Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects - An appreciation for a residential liberal arts education, respect for individual differences, openness to the values and opinions of others, and flexibility to adapt to constant change **Preferred Qualifications:** - Collegiate coaching experience - Collegiate recruiting experience - Collegiate football playing experience. - Experience using a recruiting database(ie.
