Associate Facility Manager

Summary: The Assistant Facility Manager (AFM) ensures the church campus is a welcoming, functional, clean, and safe environment for congregants, staff, guests, and the local community. This role bridges the gap between leadership’s vision and day-to-day on-the-ground execution. The AFM regularly divides time between administrative coordination, volunteer leadership, event support, maintenance, cleaning oversight, and hands-on facility work. This position supports the Facility Manager in maintaining a campus prepared for Sunday gatherings, ministry activities, external events, and the everyday needs of Storyline Church. Job Responsibilities: Cleaning and Janitorial Oversight - Oversee janitorial and cleaning needs throughout the week, on weekends, and before or after special events. - Manage waste, recycling, and trash removal processes. - Maintain appropriate inventory levels of janitorial supplies, cleaning products, and equipment. - Help ensure cleaning standards support a welcoming, safe, and excellent guest experience. Maintenance and Building Operations - Oversee Sunday Morning Facility responsibilities. - Assist in tracking, prioritizing, and completing preventative maintenance and repair needs across the Church. - Identify significant repair needs and communicate them promptly to the Facility Manager. - Oversee the Portering of Arvada Town Center; Monitor exterior campus appearance, including landscaping needs, trash removal, seasonal snow and ice removal, walkways, parking areas, and outdoor gathering spaces. Partner with the Director of Operations to fix any issues. - Assist with OSHA, fire/life safety, and church policy compliance. Facility Volunteer Team - Develop, build, schedule, and lead a volunteer Facility Team to support Sunday morning gatherings and special events. - Recruit and manage volunteers for event setup, teardown, room resets, maintenance, and campus readiness. - Establish volunteer roles, schedules, and communication workflows. - Train volunteers on safety, procedures, equipment, and hospitality standards. - Coordinate volunteer coverage for Sunday gatherings and church events. Relationship with Storyline Team: - I receive input from: Facility Manager, Director of Operations - I work with: Operations Team, Storyline Staff, Ministry Leaders, Vendors, and Volunteers - I lead: Facility Volunteer Team, Facility Coordinators Qualifications: - Member of Storyline Church. - Demonstrates a daily pursuit of Christian maturity. - Agrees with and lives in alignment with the Storyline Statement of Faith. - Supports and advances Storyline Church’s mission, values, and ministry culture. - Two to five years of experience in facility operations, property management, maintenance, custodial services, construction, or a related trade is preferred. - Basic working knowledge of maintenance, repairs, cleaning procedures, building systems, and facility operations. - Experience coordinating events, volunteers, vendors, or work crews is preferred. - Basic proficiency with Google Suite, building management software, work-order systems, and scheduling tools. - Ability to perform essential maintenance, cleaning, setup, tear-down, and general facility work. - Ability to lift 50–75 pounds frequently and perform physical work for extended periods. - Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Ability to operate tools and power equipment commonly used in janitorial, maintenance, and facility operations. - Ability to observe safety and security procedures and comply with policies. - Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-through. - Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. - Ability to adhere to schedules, honor commitments, and demonstrate professionalism. - High school diploma or GED required. - Flexible schedule required, including Sunday mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
