This exciting leadership opportunity allows the successful candidate to play a central role in shaping a comprehensive campus-wide prevention strategy focused on hazing prevention, interpersonal violence prevention, healthy relationships, consent education, and bystander intervention. Reporting to the Director of Prevention & Well-Being Programs, the Associate Director serves as the senior programmatic leader for these initiatives and works collaboratively with Student Life, Athletics, Housing, Student Conduct, the Office of Institutional Equity, fraternity and sorority life, and other campus partners to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and student well-being. The position leads the development, implementation, and assessment of evidence-informed prevention programs, educational campaigns, and leadership development initiatives that support student success and organizational excellence. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate prevention professional to help build a nationally recognized prevention program while making a meaningful impact on student safety and campus culture at New Mexico's land-grant university. ## **Position Details** **Position Title:** Associate Director Hazing and IPV Prevention **College/Division:** Provost Office **Department:** 520830-STUDENT LIFE **Location:** Las Cruces **Offsite Location (if applicable):** **Target Hourly/Salary Rate:** $53,165 - $67,786.96 commensurate with experience **Appointment Full-time Equivalency:** 1.0 **FLSA Status**: Exempt **Bargaining Unit Announcement:** This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME). **Contingent Upon Funding:** Not Applicable **Standard Work Schedule:** Standard (M-F, 8-5) **If Not a Standard Work Schedule:** **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** The Associate Director, Hazing & Interpersonal Violence Prevention, reports to the Director of Prevention and Well-being Programs serving as the senior programmatic leader within the Aggie Prevention & Well-Being Program unit. The director will provide leadership for university prevention initiatives focused on hazing, interpersonal violence, healthy relationships, consent education, and bystander intervention. The position develops, implements, and assesses evidence-informed prevention strategies designed to reduce high-risk behaviors, promote student well-being, and strengthen organizational culture. Working collaboratively with campus and community partners, the Associate Director supports the university's comprehensive prevention framework through education, outreach, assessment, and culture-change initiatives. This position complements institutional compliance and response functions by focusing on proactive prevention and student engagement. ## **Qualifications** **Required Education and Experience:**Associate's Degree + 9 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 7 years of relevant experience. Master's degree or higher preferred. **Equivalent Qualifications:** **Preferred Qualifications:**Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Practical experience with training and development concepts, student organization risk management training, and/or fraternity and sorority advising.
