The Role Location: Sydney – Hybrid; part-time available This is a senior practice-facing opportunity for an experienced insolvency professional to shape technical quality, regulatory compliance, systems adoption and practice consistency across Teneo’s Financial Advisory businesses in Australia and New Zealand. You will work closely with: Senior Managing Directors leading Teneo’s Financial Advisory practices in AU and NZ Engagement teams in AU and NZ Global Quality & Risk Management team (Global QRM) The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening technical excellence and practice consistency by developing practical guidance, improving the use of insolvency practice software, overseeing precedent and checklist updates, supporting targeted training, and partnering with Global QRM to align local practice with firm-wide quality and risk standards. The role is flexible by level and may be appointed at Associate Director or Director level, depending on the candidate’s technical depth, practice leadership experience, ability to influence senior stakeholders, and capacity to own governance, systems and quality initiatives across the AU and NZ Financial Advisory practices. Key Responsibilities Lead practice improvement initiatives that strengthen the quality, consistency and effectiveness of insolvency templates, processes, policies and procedures. Provide practical technical guidance on complex issues arising in prospective and active insolvency engagements. Support internal and external quality assurance reviews and help translate review outcomes into practical practice improvements. Support the effective investigation, management and resolution of complaints and/or regulatory enquiries, applying sound technical judgement and appropriate escalation. A) Technical insolvency support & legal / regulatory updates Monitor and summarise changes in insolvency law, regulations, and professional guidance. Prepare concise technical updates and practical guidance notes for practitioners. Respond to routine technical queries and escalate complex matters appropriately. B) Practice management system ownership – insolvency practice software Lead practice adoption and effective use of insolvency practice software, acting as a senior point of contact for systems guidance, improvement and enablement. Develop practical user guidance, training materials and adoption support that help practitioners use the system confidently and consistently. Support governance expectations associated with system ownership (including supporting testing and change control). C) Insolvency precedents, checklists & practice documentation Coordinate review cycles and updates of insolvency precedents/checklists; ensure version control and appropriate approvals. Work with senior practitioners to prioritise improvements and address gaps. D) Internal training program support Partner with Global L&D to shape and coordinate a targeted insolvency training program, including practice software enablement, for the AU and NZ businesses. Contribute to training content and delivery support where specialist technical input or practice context is required. E) Continuous improvement / practice uplift Contribute to practice initiatives designed to improve efficiency, consistency and user experience in insolvency practice software, through development and adoption of ‘AI’ tools, and (as necessary), related documentation/training. F) Quality reviews and complaints handling Partner with Global QRM to develop or align AU and NZ policies and procedures that are practical, proportionate and consistent with firm-wide standards. Support the design and implementation of a quality assurance program tailored to the AU and NZ Financial Advisory practices. Work with the Global FA CRO to implement and manage a complaints management process for the AU and NZ businesses.
