We are especially interested in and give preference to candidates who demonstrate a vision to create and nurture initiatives that will advance our mission within the scope of their duties and who will foster a culture of dialogue that, with respect for all people, supports the search for meaning and purpose in pursuit of excellence. **Job Summary** Salary Range: $34,000 **Main Duties & Responsibilities** - Serve as assistant coach for NCAA Division III intercollegiate women’s soccer program. - Travel to regional and national recruiting events, identifying and prospecting potential recruits for women’s soccer program. - Perform essential coaching duties including, but not limited to - on-field coaching - skill development - scouting of opponents - practice planning - Video work - Coordinate office tasks such as mailings, e-mail communication, visit correspondence, travel scheduling, equipment inventory, budget oversight, social media, etc. - Oversee, direct and supervise part-time staff and student-workers as needed. - Perform secondary duties as assigned by the Athletic Director - Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary’s University as a Lasallian Catholic institution. ## Qualifications **Experience and Education Requirements** **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s Degree, required. - Master’s Degree, preferred. - 1-3 years of experience coaching women’s soccer in a high school or college setting. - May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree required. - Master’s degree preferred. - 1-3 years of experience coaching women’s soccer in a high school or college setting. - May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience. **Essential Knowledge & Skills** - Have strong communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic work environment. - Have a strong passion for the profession and be a positive team member on our staff. - Be willing to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends; travel with team. - Have exemplary ethical conduct and a commitment to follow all applicable NCAA Division III and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules and regulations. - Be able to work independently on multiple projects. - Be forward-thinking and have effective problem-solving skills. - Be able to interact with a large range of personalities and value sets. - Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, students, recruits and other stakeholders. - Observes safety guidelines and follows safety procedures established by the university. **Physical Demands** - **Medium work.** Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. **Physical Hazards – Health and Safety Concerns** - Driving - Extreme climate (Hot/Cold) ## Application Requirements Apply online at https://www.smumn.edu/about/offices-services/human-resources/employment-opportunities/ and include a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
