## Description The Assistant Stage Manager will assist in the Fall 2026 Theater Production at SMC directed by Prof. Kate Roark. Job duties include: - Must be available in the evenings from 5:45-9:15 Mondays through Thursdays for rehearsals, and the weekend evenings of the performances. - During rehearsals, assist the Stage Manager with all their tasks as needed, and filling in for the stage manager when/if the stage manager is unable to come to rehearsal. (NACE Teamwork) - When not assisting with taking down rehearsal blocking/notes - still attentively watching the rehearsal and paying attention to how the play is coming together. (NACE Teamwork) - Text and call actors who have not shown up on time. (NACE Communication) - Be willing and able to stand in for an actor, reading their lines and doing their blocking, when an actor is unable to come to rehearsal (sick or conflict). Communicate with the actor when they return about any changes that were decided upon during the rehearsal they missed. (NACE Teamwork, Communication) - Play sound cues during rehearsals as needed (NACE Technology, Teamwork) - Communicate with actors when they need to come backstage/onstage from the greenroom to keep rehearsal on schedule. (NACE Communication, Teamwork) - During performances, this position will either run the sound board, the light board, mics, or be the backstage manager making sure set changes run smoothly and actors are in place for their entrances.
