Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking a passionate and collaborative Academic Internal Medicine Faculty Member to join our Primary Care–Academic Department in a part-time role averaging 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE). Reporting to the Chair of the Primary Care–Academic Department, this faculty member will play an integral role in delivering a dynamic and learner-centered educational experience. Working alongside a dedicated team of Primary Care faculty, the successful candidate will contribute to classroom instruction, develop and facilitate laboratories and clinical skills experiences, and support a variety of educational initiatives that advance the mission and priorities of both the department and the University. If you are energized by teaching, value academic collaboration, and enjoy inspiring learners as they prepare for careers in medicine, we invite you to bring your expertise and enthusiasm to DMU. **What you’ll do:** - Deliver engaging medical education by planning, facilitating, and assessing a variety of learning experiences, including classroom lectures, small-group instruction, simulation activities, and clinical clerkship didactics across DMU's health sciences programs. - Support curricular excellence and innovation through active participation in curriculum development, continuous improvement initiatives, student advising and mentorship, admissions interviews, and fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes student success. - Contribute to the University and broader community by serving on committees, supporting student organizations, participating in outreach efforts, completing required training, and collaborating on special projects that advance the mission of DMU and the profession. **What we are looking for:** - D.O. degree from a COCA accredited college of osteopathic medicine or an M.D. degree from an LCME accredited college of medicine. - Board-eligible/certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine or board eligible/certified by American Board of Internal Medicine. - If board eligible, must obtain certification within one year of employment. - The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of full time clinical experience in Internal Medicine or a related fellowship trained clinical practice. \*To see the full job description go to Position Description at the bottom of this posting. **Total Rewards:** Our employees are what make DMU special, so we treat them well!
