Reports To: The Principal of the school Salary range: Commensurate with qualifications, responsibilities, and relevant experience Benefits: A competitive benefits package is provided by the Washington County Board of Education Evaluation: Annual based on performance of assigned duties and established performance objectives Qualifications Profile Certification/License: Valid Tennessee Teaching License required. Valid Tennessee Instructional Leadership License (ILL) (B) (A) required. Administrative or supervisory experience in accordance with state law and State Board Rules and Regulations, based on the minimum of a master's degree. Experience: Successful teaching experience at Elementary/Middle School level, preferably in one or more subject areas and grade levels. Successful administrative experience required with experience as an elementary assistant principal preferred. FLSA Status: Exempt Competencies for this position include but are not limited to: Instructional Leadership and College/Career Readiness Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the school. Serves as the designee in the absence of the Principal. Proposes schedules of classes and extracurricular activities. Supervises the preparation of student schedules. Works with department heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests. Requisitions supplies, textbooks and equipment, conducts inventories, maintains records, and checks on receipts for such materials. Assists in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practices activities. Assumes responsibility for coordination of transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary. Administers the student insurance program. Performs such record-keeping functions as the Principal may direct. Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the principal. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by Administration. Human Capital Management/Resources Participates in the teacher and staff evaluation process with fidelity and provides accurate, timely, and actionable feedback that leads to improved student achievement. Delegates duties and establishes clear expectations for all faculty, staff, and students while maintaining ownership of the responsibility for the decisions made and the actions taken. Demonstrates sensitivity to staff members' needs. Supports and recognizes the professional growth of staff members. Supervises, evaluates, supports, and provides quality feedback for teachers, support staff, and students. Student Services/Relationships Builds an environment conducive to engaging, challenging, and creative learning � clean, safe, respectful, purposeful, challenging, and positive. Establishes and maintains a fair and consistent Code of Student Conduct as the basis of judgments in disputes, confrontations, and/or disciplinary cases. Communicates school policies relating to student behavior to students and parents. Maintains fair and consistent discipline in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Provides supervision for the after-school program and other special activities as necessary. Notifies and collaborates with parents in a timely manner to resolve student/student and student/faculty issues.
