You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. **Eligible for a Sign-on Bonus up to $15,000** Under the direction of the ED/UA Director/Manager, the **Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM)** functions as the assistive leader for a specific shift(s) and assumes responsibility for clinical practice which may include 24-hour accountability. The APCM is responsible for supporting coordination of care and communication to facilitate patient needs as well as providing direction to and counseling of unit staff. This position will also serve as a public relations representative for patients and their families. **Essential Job Functions** - Maintain new hire and annual staff certifications via health stream, lab training completion - Collect and analyze quality metrics such as QC 30 total Chest pain/ Pneumonia charts monthly - Conduct DNV rounding completion - Monitor and respond to schedule changes, staffing shortfalls, cover call-offs as needed - Precept new staff - Conduct daily/shift rounds for compliance with regulatory requirements; crash cart logs, refrigerator logs, etc. - Performs other duties assigned - Promotes Innovation: Thinks creatively; leverages diverse resources; ensures relevance by evaluating and developing potential solutions for important areas; implements improvements. - Delivers Results: Sets clear expectations; sustains focus; achieves goals; inspires success. - Makes Thoughtful Decisions: Identifies issues, problems and opportunities; gathers and interprets information; generates alternatives and selects appropriate action; commits to implementation with a sense of urgency and bias for action. - Acts with Courage and Conviction: Identifies issues or concerns to maximize the patient, customer and employee experience; informs the appropriate leaders when expectations or standards are not met or when UCMC’s values are at risk; commits to resolution. - Communicates with Impact: Listens to learn; owns and delivers clear messages; uses language appropriately; ensures understanding. - This position exhibits knowledge of, follows and actively supports the philosophy, mission and vision of UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital, while demonstrating behavior consistent with the core values and standards of service of the organization. **Required Qualifications** - 3-5 years RN in Emergency Department preferred **Education and License/ Certfication Requirements** - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing/BSN required - Current RN license for State of Illinois - Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS - CEN (preferred, not required) - Competencies: To be completed within one year of hire, RN core competencies for specialty and current leadership competency work. **Position Details** - Job Type/FTE: Full Time, 1.0FTE - Shift:Night, every 4th weekend, On-Call - Unit/Department: Urgent Aid- Family Care Centers, Tinley Park - CBA Code: Non Union - Work Location - Onsite, Rotate between 3 UA sites ### About the Company *We’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
