Delaware State University is seeking an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the Ed. D. in Educational Leadership Program (Higher Ed). The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in teaching and advising at the graduate level. In addition, they will have a track record of producing culturally responsive leaders who are knowledgeable and sensitive to the diverse needs of those they serve in order to maximize the academic achievement of the students. Hybrid (online synchronous and asynchronous) curricular instruction will be used to provide the course material via a cohort model in accordance with the accelerated weekend format. The candidate must have the ability to teach any of the following Higher Ed. foundational areas: quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research; leadership in higher education; contemporary issues in higher education; human capital and resource management; public policy and higher education; ethics and law in higher education; applied assessment in educational research; strategic financial management; use of technology in research; organizational dynamics, and risk management strategies. In addition, they will function as the dissertation chair to an assigned group of students. Active engagement in research, grant writing, and involvement in state, regional, national, and international organizations are expected. Working as the Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist the Director of Graduate Programs in developing and coordinating the daily functioning of the Education Graduate Programs. The Candidate will provide logistical support to the Program Director, including but not limited to student consultation, registration, course selection, class schedules, and the timelines regarding their degree completion. Furthermore, the Coordinator will assist in collecting, maintaining, and analyzing the course assessment data for writing the reports. Should possess analytical skills to make effective decisions that ensure student success. The successful candidate is expected to teach MEd and EdD graduate students within their fields of expertise.**Essential Functions** 1. Teach educational leadership doctoral-level Higher Education courses in the Education Graduate Programs (including summer months for adjunct pay). 2. Advise and mentor graduate students. 3. Chair and serve on dissertation committees. 4. Coordinating and administering the qualifying and comprehensive exams to the graduate students. 5. Coordinating the admission activities and orientations and maintaining contact with the students to assist with their enrollments. 6. Supervising the students' academic progression as per the Plan of Study and the program-specific requirements and outcomes. 7. Tracking and maintaining an online system of important documents and maintaining a progression sheet documenting the changes in the student records. 8. Continue production of innovations and scholarly work, including publications and presentations, and actively pursue external funding through grant writing. 9. Work in a team-oriented environment to review and revise curriculum, support department initiatives and projects, and coordinate work related to Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate (CPED). 10. Participate in University/College/Department/Graduate Office/State/Professional committees and community at large activities. Willingness to assume a leadership role and accept a fair share of committee assignments and serve conscientiously as a member of committees appointed or elected to and fulfill the specific duties of any chair or office accepted. 11. Maintain office hours in order to be available to students on a regular basis for advising and counseling on matters regarding their academic performance and progress in class. 12.
