**Department:** Residential Services **County or State Funded:** County **Exempt or Non-exempt: E**xempt **Paygrade:** C-116 **Salary pay range:** $29.24 - $36.55 hourly **Basic Function and Responsibility:** Provide effective management of staff, resources and operations to ensure the efficient functioning and ongoing development of a youth treatment facility. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to offer guidance, consultation and support on key operational matters. Supervise, mentor, and develop team member to maintain high standards of service delivery. Represent and attend meeting to support court goals. **Appointing Authority and Supervision Received:** The deputy court administrator of family court is the appointing authority. The assistant manager receives direct supervision by the manager of the unit. **Supervision Exercised**: This position is directly responsible for the supervision of facility supervisors, shift leaders and nurses. **Characteristic and Assigned Duties: (**The following duties are representative of the position and do not include all duties which may be performed.) - Lead, schedule, and oversee, daily staff activities to ensure effective facility operations. - Provide supervision, training and performance evaluations for staff. - Act as facility manager in the absence of supervisor. - Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures. - Forecast and prepare for immediate and short-term needs and objectives. - Monitor and improve service quality and service quality and efficiency which include the effective use of human, physical, fiscal and time resources. - Advise, assist and consult with immediate supervisor to formulate, implement and sanction policies and procedures and provide recommendations and input for long-range needs and objectives. - Investigate and resolve operational and staff related issues. - Provide input on disciplinary actions and recommend solutions. - Prepare, review, and maintain reports, records, and correspondence. - Participate in meetings, seminars and training sessions; engage in public speaking as needed. - Ensure safety and security for youth and staff. - Identify resources to build partnerships to enhance specialized services. - Transport youth as necessary; represent the court and testify when required. - Respond to after-hours calls and emergencies; return to the work site if necessary. - Perform other duties required. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: (This job description does not include specific physical requirements necessary to perform the job, such as, carrying, standing and lifting. Such requirements vary from position to position and may be determined by the appointing authority.) - Knowledge and experience in the modern principles, practices, methods and techniques of treatment and counseling modalities for troubled youth and families. - Some knowledge of applicable court procedures and related laws; some knowledge of the organization, operation, functions, responsibilities and jurisdiction of a juvenile or family court system. - Some knowledge of personnel practices, procedures and employment law. - Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and to prepare clear and concise reports, letters, memoranda and other documents. - Ability to present and administer training program. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the judiciary, court administration, and other stakeholders from diverse cultures and backgrounds. - Ability to organize, supervise and coordinate departmental activities in a manner conducive to full productivity. - Ability to assess objectively the performance potential of applicants and employees. - Ability to make sound decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and departmental policies and procedures. - Ability to relate to individuals from a variety of cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds. - Ability to operate a vehicle in a safe and prude…
