## Description **The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD,** known as "The HARRIS CENTER," is seeking an experienced **Assistant Director - Revenue Cycle** to join our team. The Assistant Director, Revenue Cycle provides senior operational leadership across revenue cycle functions and direct oversight of professional coding operations, supporting the Director of Revenue Cycle in achieving financial performance, compliance, and operational excellence goals. This role acts as the primary operational deputy to the Director, ensuring day-to-day execution, leadership continuity, and alignment across billing, professional coding, AR, denials, payment posting, and revenue integrity functions. The Assistant Director is accountable for professional coding quality, productivity, audit readiness, and payer risk mitigation, while also leading manager-level leaders across downstream revenue cycle operations. This position is intentionally structured to support leadership continuity and succession planning. **Your role in Action:** Operational Leadership & Oversight - Provide leadership across revenue cycle functions, including coding, billing, AR, denials, payment posting, and reporting. - Act as Director’s backup and escalation point. - Execute revenue cycle strategies and align operations to financial goals. Professional Coding Leadership - Lead professional coding operations and manage coding leadership team. - Ensure compliance with coding standards and payer requirements. - Drive coding accuracy, productivity, and audit readiness. - Partner cross-functionally to improve documentation and reduce risk. - Oversee workflows in Epic Resolute Professional Billing. Performance & Process Improvement - Monitor key KPIs (AR days, coding quality/productivity, denials, clean claims, collections). - Lead process improvement initiatives and standardize workflows. - Leverage Epic tools to enhance efficiency and outcomes. Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. - Support audits and manage corrective action plans. - Partner with Compliance and Legal to mitigate risk. People Leadership - Manage and develop revenue cycle and coding leaders. - Oversee staffing, productivity standards, and succession planning. - Foster accountability and continuous improvement. Financial Stewardship - Support forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis. - Partner with Finance to identify variances and revenue opportunities. - Deliver executive-level insights and ensure data integrity. Collaboration & Strategy - Collaborate with leadership across Revenue Cycle, Finance, IT, and Compliance. - Support system implementations and strategic initiatives. - Contribute to planning and growth of professional services revenue. **What qualifications you will need:** **Education:** - Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent - Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Master’s degree preferred. - Current active professional coding certification is required **Experience:** - Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, with demonstrated expertise across multiple functional areas, including professional coding, billing, accounts receivable, denial management, and revenue integrity. - Must have 4 years of leadership experience managing managers and/or large, complex operational teams. **** **Knowledge Skills and Abilities:** - The ideal individual will have demonstrated experience leading professional coding operations, alongwith a strong working knowledge of billing, professional coding, accounts receivable, and denialmanagement workflows. - Experience with Epic revenue cycle applications, including Resolute Professional Billing, is strongly preferred. - Must also demonstrate strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting functions.
