Louisiana State University in Shreveport seeks an enthusiastic, student-centered, and detail-oriented professional to serve as Assistant Director of Online Learning. This position supports the advancement of high-quality, accessible, and inclusive online learning at LSUS. The Assistant Director of Online Learning will collaborate with partners across the campus to strengthen online and hybrid course quality, ensure alignment with accessibility and RSI expectations and support strategic initiatives related to digital, hybrid, and technology-enhanced teaching and learning. This is a high-impact position reporting directly to the Chief Online Learning Officer and working in close partnership with deans, program directors, department chairs, and faculty. Although supervisory responsibilities are limited, this position exercises functional authority over the Online Learning department in the absence of the Chief Online Learning Officer. This is a full-time, salaried/exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend hours required. This summary is not intended to be a comprehensive or all-inclusive description of duties and responsibilities. **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelor's Degree in relevant or related academic field - Three years of relevant experience with digital accessibility and educational technology - Knowledge and experience with appropriate federal and state laws/standards that relate to online learning (ADA, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, etc.) - Experience using standard software application packages and educational technology tools to develop accessible instructional materials (MS Office, Adobe, Open Educational Resources, NCADEMI etc.) - Two years or more of experience using course management systems and collaborative tools (Moodle, Zoom, etc.) - Demonstrated ability to deliver effective accessibility training in a one-on-one or group setting either face-to-face or online - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver training materials and presentations to a diverse group of people in a professional context - Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, and report data in support of continuous improvement initiatives - Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with quick deadlines - Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships **Preferred Qualifications** - Master's Degree - Familiarity with multiple learning management systems (Moodle, Blackboard, etc.) for instructional and course/program development - Working knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) pedagogies and educational accessibility principles, current theories, models and exemplary practices in higher education - Two years or more of experience teaching/training users (instructors, staff, students) effective uses of accessible instructional design technologies **Core Competencies:** **Communication:** Ability to adjust communication style to suite the audience/customer/situation **Collaboration:** Ability to work effectively in group settings **Service to Customer and LSUS:** Ability to focus on providing positive experiences for stakeholders **Delivering Results:** Ability to focus on achieving outcomes **Problem Solving:** Ability to overcome barriers to success **Leading Others:** Ability to inspire, guide, and support individuals and teams towards achieving common goals **Physical and Environmental Demands:** Light work-exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
