Assistant Director of Nursing

Assistant Director of Nursing Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading and managing the nursing department within our skilled nursing facility. The ADON plays a key role in ensuring high-quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and staff development while fostering a collaborative and resident-centered environment. Key responsibilities: - Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management of nursing services - Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff - Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, including staffing and workflow - Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives - Monitor clinical outcomes such as wounds, falls, infections, and rehospitalizations - Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including CMS standards - Support staff education, training, and competency validation - Assist with scheduling, staffing, and performance evaluations - Serve as a clinical resource and assist with complex resident care needs - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal resident outcomes - Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Minimum qualifications: - Current RN license in the state of employment. - Graduate of an accredited nursing program. - Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term care - Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred - Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and clinical best practices - Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills - Ability to lead, coach, and motivate nursing staff - Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Physical/other requirements: - Ability to lift/move residents and stand for extended periods. - Pass background check, drug screen, and TB/health screening per facility policy.
