We are seeking an individual who is Committed, Kind, Knowledgeable and Respectful to assume the **Assistant Director of Nursing (RN/LPN)** and be a part of an excellent nurse management team. The ADON assists with ensuring the residents receive excellent care utilizing evidence-based practice. (3 nurse leaders/management for 81 bed SNF and on-call rotation). **Summary:** In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Assistant Director of Nursing (RN/LPN), LTC/SNF provides 24-hour overall leadership and management of the health and wellbeing of the residents by direction and supervision of clinical functions; monitoring nursing staffing; assuming responsibilities of director in their absence; participating in continued professional development; assisting with staff development and performing other job-related duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** - Current nursing license to practice as a licensed nurse in the State of Ohio, RN preferred but will accept applications for LPN - At least three (3) year’s experience in supervisory position /charge nurse providing services to the elderly. - Current BLS (In-person instruction that includes a hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment through American Heart Association or American Red Cross). - Participates in nurse on-call rotation - Good physical and mental health. - Possesses the necessary dexterity to perform injections, IVS, etc. - Able to lift, push and pull 35-50 pounds independently, and over 50 pounds with assistance. - Possesses the ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles. - Walks, stands, and sits intermittently during the day. - Must work objectively and compassionately with residents, families and public on personal basis. - Demonstrates effective communication & problem-solving skills. - Ability to build trusting relationships with and lead nursing staff. - Demonstrates evidence of strong leadership abilities, clinical competence and interpersonal skills. - Knowledgeable of principles of growth and development for the entire life span with the ability to provide care appropriate for the adult and geriatric residents. Essential Duties (not an all-inclusive list): - Ensure that all resident care is provided in a dignified and respectful manner and accordingly to policies and procedures. - Ensure that all nursing staff are knowledgeable of the residents’ rights and responsibilities. - Make daily unit rounds to determine unit functioning and evaluate needs and concerns. - Assist the clinical staff in monitoring completeness and appropriateness of nursing staff documentation. - Assist in emergency situations involving the residents. - Interact with medical staff, nursing staff, resident, family members, and other visitors regarding resident condition. - Assess the needs of new residents and inform staff of new resident arrivals. - Make daily resident visits to observe and evaluate resident’s physical and emotional status and revise care plan accordingly. - Interact with nursing staff, residents, families, and physicians. - Participate in the nursing on-call rotation. - Assist the nursing department in dealing with resident/family concerns promptly. - Function as a Charge Nurse if needed - Ensure that a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents is maintained at all times and assure that resident needs are met. - Supervise and may participate in the development and continuation of a various program needed - Super…
