As the Assistant Director of Human Resources, you will be instrumental in supporting the overall HR functions, with a particular focus on navigating and excelling in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating progressive and proactive management of the Human Resources function. You will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our organizational goals and collective bargaining agreements. Key Responsibilities include: Recruitment and Retention: Lead the talent acquisition strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for professional staff. Labor Relations: Assist in the interpretation, administration, and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. Participate in grievance resolution processes and provide guidance on union-related matters. Employee Relations: Provide guidance and consultation in areas of expertise to administrators and supervisors for issues requiring personnel related advice, discipline, counseling, or mediation for professional staff. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, particularly as it relates to PDE certification requirements and emergency teacher permits. Compensation & Benefits: Support the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with union contracts and market competitiveness. HR Policy & Procedure: Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements. ADA Compliance & Accommodations: Managing requests for accommodation and the interactive process in accordance with ADA laws. Training & Development: Identify training needs and assist in the development and delivery of programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities, including induction for professional staff as required to qualify for tenure. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. A PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is a plus. A minimum of five to seven years of experience in Human Resources is required.
