**Position Summary:** The position of Assistant Branch Manager is established to provide managerial and administrative support to a full service branch office of the Credit Union and maintain quality service standards set by the organization. **Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)** - Bachelor’s Degree or one additional year of relevant work experience. - Minimum three years of professional experience in operations in the financial industry, with increasing levels of responsibility and proven supervisory abilities. - Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading and oversight of people and activities. - Professional and effective interaction, verbal and written communication skills. - Organization skills sufficient to successfully manage multiple projects, establish priorities and meet deadlines. - Track record of applying critical thinking and emotional intelligence skills in a wide variety of situations. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** - Act as next in charge in the Vice President, Branch Manager's absence. - Participate in the hiring, training, coaching, supervision and performance evaluations of all branch personnel; also responsible for employee counseling, documentation, and dismissal. Ensure staff is updated on changes in policy and procedures; ensure staff is thoroughly trained in all Credit Union products and services. Assist with coordination of ongoing cross-training of all branch personnel. Provide guidance and leadership to staff and assist staff with improving performance. Promote high morale and teamwork within the branch. - Maintain good member relations; resolve problems/member complaints quickly and accurately; authorize exceptions to operating procedure when circumstances warrant and deviation is justified, alerting Branch Manager to all such exceptions. Assist members as necessary, serving as an FSR or MSR, as needed. Ensure quality member service standards are maintained within the branch. - Act as loan officer, ensuring loan decisions are made in a timely manner based on credit scoring guidelines and prudent judgment. Interface with members on complex loan files. Assist in the performance of loan audits and the review of various loan reports. Have a general awareness of competitors' loan and deposit products. - Contribute to overall branch performance. Support Management with branch service and production strategy, including coaching and development of employees to acquire and deepen member relationships. Support Branch Manager in the business development activities in the branch. - Responsible for proper control and maintenance of negotiable items to ensure members' needs are met while safeguarding the Credit Union's assets. - Supervise work flow and coordinate scheduling of branch personnel. - Monitor daily branch balancing, general ledger accounts and branch reports/accounts for accuracy and audit conformity. Responsible for consistent compliance with operational policies and procedures; exceptions based on prudent judgment coupled with the needs of the member. - Knowledgeable of all security and emergency procedures. - Responsible for making recommendations to promote professional appearance of branch, building and grounds. - Encourage ideas for improvements to Credit Union functions. - Promote branch cooperation, respect and teamwork with other branches and departments. - Participate in AML/BSA compliance training as assigned. Adhere to credit union AML/BSA policy and procedures including CTR rules and form preparation, identify and refer suspicious activity to the Compliance Department, perform OFAC comparisons, and properly identify individuals in accordance with Branch Operations procedures. - Provide managerial oversight of the activities for areas of responsibility, including assigned staff and functional deliverables of the team. - Demonstrate leadership in words and actions on a daily basis; act as role model for success and engagement.
