**The position of Assistant Athletic Coach is an 'at-will' position. As an 'at-will' employee, Yavapai College may terminate employment at any time and for any lawful reason. Since this position serves at the pleasure of the Head Coach and should that position become vacant or the Head Coach replaced, this position may be ending at the same time.** The Assistant Athletic Coach & Admissions Specialist is a dual-role position that supports both Yavapai College Athletics and Enrollment Management. During the athletic season, the employee assists with coaching, student-athlete development, recruitment, and program operations. During the off-season, the employee serves as an Admissions Specialist, supporting prospective and current students through the enrollment process and participating in recruitment and outreach activities. This position plays a critical role in attracting, enrolling, and supporting students while contributing to the success of Yavapai College’s athletic and enrollment goals. **Key Responsibilities:** Athletic Coaching Responsibilities (Approximately 8 Months) - Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, competitions, and team activities. - Participate in recruiting efforts and talent identification. - Support student-athlete academic progress, retention, eligibility, and personal development. - Assist with game-day operations and event management. - Coordinate and maintain athletic facilities, equipment, and playing surfaces. - Assist with scheduling, summer camps, fundraising activities, and community engagement. - Support compliance with NJCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. - Maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, and community stakeholders. - Assist with travel coordination and team logistics. - Perform administrative duties related to athletic program operations. Admissions & Recruitment Responsibilities (Approximately 4 Months) - Assist prospective students through the admissions and enrollment process. - Conduct outreach to applicants who have not completed enrollment requirements. - Support admissions events, college fairs, high school visits, campus tours, and recruitment activities. - Assist students with applications, residency requirements, transcript submissions, and identity verification. - Maintain accurate records of student interactions within CRM and student information systems. - Manage phone, email, chatbot, and virtual communications with prospective students. - Provide general information regarding college programs, services, and resources. - Collaborate with academic advisors and financial aid staff to ensure students complete enrollment steps. - Participate in targeted recruitment campaigns and yield activities. - Support enrollment initiatives designed to increase student recruitment and retention. - Associate's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience - Experience in coaching athletics, mentoring students, recruitment, customer service, or related fields. - Ability to effectively communicate with diverse student populations. - Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for athletic competitions and recruitment activities. - Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. - Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. - Ability to recruit and engage prospective students and student-athletes. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. - Customer-service orientation with a student-centered mindset. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. - Ability to represent Yavapai College professionally in the community. - Bachelor’s degree in a related field. -…
