## Description Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Personal Care Assistant Administrator is responsible for assisting the PCHA in planning, organizing, and directing the operations of Allied Terrace in accordance with Allied Services philosophy and current applicable federal, state and local laws. The Personal Care Assistant Administrator adheres and supports all internal policies, procedures and practices. Type of Supervision exercised: Full. Jobs reporting to this position: Personal Care staff **EDUCATION:** Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required. **WORK EXPERIENCE:** Minimum of five (5) year supervisory experience preferred. Two (2) years Assisted Living or Personal Care experience preferred. **SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:** Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification. Must maintain the standards of care and implement the policies and procedures of Allied Terrace and Allied Services. Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff and residents. Must maintain confidentiality of resident information. Valid PA driver’s license and available transportation during all working hours required. Must exhibit flexibility in managing multifaceted requirements of position. Certificate to practice as a Personal Care Administrator in Pennsylvania is preferred. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** Moderate Work: duties require exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects (i.e., occasional patient transfers). Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift. Ability to transport self throughout facility is required. **ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS:** Occasional exposure to body fluids. Occasional chemical exposure from first aid supplies, resident prescriptions and some cleaning supplies. **WORKING CONDITIONS:** Works indoors with minimal noise exposure. Occasional exposure to odors. | **CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:** E = Essential Element NE = Nonessential Element | | --- | | 10% Understands and supports the mission statement and core values of Allied Services in relation to assigned position as well as other positions in the organization. (E) | | 10% Meets with residents, their families, attending physicians, pharmacists, visitors, and other appropriate persons to explain and interpret policies and procedures, acts as a liaison with families and informs the Personal Care Administrator of all family and resident complaints, and insures that the care being given is consistent with Allied Services concern for the well-being of the residents. (E) | | 5% Directs the admission and orientation of residents to the facility. (E) | | 5% Coordinates resident medical and other related appointments. (E) | | 5% Assists the PCAs with coordinating and monitoring resident therapy programs on a daily basis including follow-up of all new therapy orders. (E) | | 5% Provides direct care to residents in the absence of, or to complement, staff.(E) | | 5% Assists with service plan, assessments and med evaluations for all residents.(E) | | 5% Reviews the service plans and assessments annually, upon significant change and as needed, ensures current is available to direct care staff to meet resident needs. (E) | | 5% Ensures that the residents have an annual physical assessment completed within the appropriate time frame and upon significant change and as needed per DHS regulations.
