Assembly Technician II

As an Assembly Technician II, you will be using your assembly knowledge to build products containing electronics to a defined set of procedures/instructions. You'll be responsible to complete prescribed repetitive tasks in conjunction with a team that will culminate into a finished product on an assembly line. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber. **Responsibilities:** - Assemble complex components and subassemblies according to detailed instructions and blueprints. - Perform quality inspections and tests on assembled products. - Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues. - Maintain and calibrate assembly tools and equipment. - Document and report production activities and any discrepancies. - Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Assist in training and mentoring junior assembly technicians. - Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes. - Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects. **Must-haves:** - High school diploma or GED equivalent. - 1+ years' experience as an assembly technician or in a related field. - A higher level degree may substitute for experience. - A good understanding of manufacturing, production or warehouse environments. - Ability to comprehend/follow detailed instructions. - The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. **Qualifications We Prefer:** - Experience in the aerospace and defense industry. - Certification in intermediate soldering or electronics assembly. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. **Essential Functions:** - Perform assembly tasks, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly. - Operate and maintain assembly tools and equipment, requiring hand/finger dexterity. - Stand for extended periods during the work shift. - Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols. - Ability to travel may be required. - For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.
