Art Teacher - Hope Learning Academy

**Art Teacher - Hope Learning Academy Springfield, IL Pay Range = $50,000-$88,000 annually (based on experience)** The Art Teacher creates and implements Art Program sessions at Hope Learning Academy based on goals outlined in the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or by the classroom teacher. **Essential Duties:** - Conduct baseline Art Program session to determine student’s current level of functioning in the Art setting. - Design an Art program based on current cognitive, social, emotional, communications, and motor goals. - Implement targeted programs/activities in weekly sessions, either in group or individual settings. - Provide students with an enjoyable Art experience in the classroom which allows the opportunity for group as well as individual participation in the areas of creativity, use of materials, multi-media experiences, etc. - Record student’s or class’s progress after each session, including goals addressed, session plan, comments, and thoughts/ideas for next session. - Provide Art resources for classroom teachers as necessary, including requested projects, lesson plans, and materials by subject areas (animals, seasons, holidays, etc.). **Minimum Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Art Education **Preferred Qualifications:** - LBS1 certified - Teaching certificate - Experience working with children with developmental disabilities. **Who We Are** **Hope** is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
