Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. Maintain kitchen following the proper health and sanitation guidelines. **Major Duties:** 1. Prepare and serve attractive and tasteful foods adapted to the varied physical development of the children in the center that meets requirements for creditable meals. 2. Shop locally and order through distributors, purchasing foods in an economical manner. 3. Keep an organized and hygienic kitchen and surrounding area in order to uphold required health and safety standards. 1. Maintain food service equipment in working condition, report damaged and loss of kitchen equipment and food to Nutrition Coordinator. 2. Maintain completed and accurate required paperwork. 3. Join the children and staff for noon meals to model appropriate eating behaviors. 4. Be a resource to teachers for ways children can be involved in food preparation and experiences, plan menus. 5. Involve parents in better understanding of nutrition and increase abilities in food preparation and serving, along with providing consumer information. 6. Supervises volunteers working in the kitchen. 7. Communicate in a positive and proficient manner. 8. Maintain confidentiality regarding program, children, families and staff. 9.
