This position sits within the Customer and Community Group who are responsible for providing facilities and services that help create a safe, vibrant and inclusive city. ## Job Description **He angituutanga: The opportunity** As an Alcohol Licensing Inspector, you will inquire into and report on alcohol licensing applications and monitor compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. This is a varied role that includes office-based responsibilities, field work such as inspecting licensed premises (which will occasionally involve after-hours work), conducting interviews, preparing cases for hearings, and participating in the hearing process. Strong investigative skills are essential. You will be required to gather and analyse information, conduct site visits, follow up on complaints or non-compliance, and prepare a comprehensive case for hearing when necessary. This includes compiling evidence, preparing legal submissions, and presenting your findings clearly and confidently at a hearing. We are looking for someone who can think critically, has excellent analytical and report writing skills and can make sound, evidence-based decisions independently. It is important that you can build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
