\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*This position is contingent on contract award.\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* General Description Aircraft mechanical personnel support KC-135 aircraft maintenance operations. This position is based at Fairchild AFB, WA and requires CONUS/OCONUS travel to support maintenance operations throughout the United States and overseas. Ideal candidates are experienced KC-135 Crew Chiefs with a strong background in flight line maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and ensuring aircraft mission readiness. Duties - Perform Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot-Level maintenance on KC-135 aircraft. - Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs. - Troubleshoot aircraft systems and identify corrective actions. - Remove, replace, repair, and modify aircraft components and assemblies. - Read and interpret Technical Orders, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation. - Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with established procedures. - Perform operational and functional checks. - Support aircraft launches, recoveries, and maintenance inspections. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. - Travel as required to support mission requirements. - Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Technical Orders, and structural repair manuals. - Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. - Other duties as assigned Education/Experience Requirements - High School Diploma or equivalent - 4 - 6 years on-the-job experience performing Organizational, Intermediate, or Depot-Level aircraft maintenance on wide-body aircraft, preferably KC-135. - Formal aviation avionics training from a technical trade or military technical school is preferred. - A Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License or an Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is desired but not required. - Must possess the ability and equivalent experience to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS travel. - Experience operating ground support equipment. - Knowledge of using specialized equipment, tools, and test equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides preferred. - Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment. - Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance - Must be able to work, day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required. - Must be a U.S. citizen. - Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access. - We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offers, pre-employment substance abuse testing Physical Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
